We choose to get involved and learn to become champions in good deeds for 7 years
We always tell you about the beautiful projects in which MaxBet employees are unconditionally involved, but, by far, the most dear to us is the event ”Champions in good deeds”. Reaching the 7th edition, this year brought a premiere in the form of 3 competitions held simultaneously. The last count revealed 30 teams registered for the football championship, 15 teams registered for the football-tennis championship and 6 teams registered for the women's volleyball championship. Colleagues from 15 cities of the country signed up for the event with one goal in mind, the humanitarian one. The rule of the championship is simple: the participating teams choose a social or medical cause to fight for, and the money earned from the points collected is donated to noble purposes.
It is not a simple event at all and this is because the emotional charge often overwhelms us all. More than once, the people they fought for in the competition came to the field to support their teams. Most of the time it is about the fans, for whom the event is an opportunity for real happiness and moral support, not just financial. Surrounded by so many great people who pay attention to them and prove that they are the main actors on stage, they have the necessary impetus to move on and not forget to be children. This year, the Quick Silver team pleasantly surprised all those present on the field, when they appeared accompanied by the most beautiful gallery: the children from the “Heart for Heart” Foundation, from Ramnicu Valcea, for whom they entered the competition. The organizers could not remain passive, thus offering them, in addition to the points already accumulated, the prize for the best gallery worth 2,000 lei. We have no words to express the beauty of the moment when the little ones started chanting the name Quick Silver. Their timid voices covered the entire field, turning the match into a story with a happy ending.
But that was not all, because a second surprise of the event was created by the impact of the volleyball championship, our colleagues being acclaimed and applauded throughout the matches. The final was played between the girls from INTERMAX, the team from Brasov, and the girls from All 4 ONE, from Bucharest. With a final score of 3 to 2, they managed to keep the audience speechless and raise the competition to the rank of art. The winning team chose the amount of 5,000 lei to go to the ”Lidia Teodora Dragomir” Association, in order to compensate for the medical treatment of a boy suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The Fantastic Four team, the winners of the football-tennis cup, did not let themselves be outdone either. With a smaller audience than our volleyball colleagues, but with the same support from their loved ones, our champions have shown us once again that any obstacle can be overcome when the prize won brings them the satisfaction of being able to do a good deed. They decided that the amount of 5,000 lei earned should go to the ”Aurora Jump to the Stars” Association.
We now turn our attention to the Football Championship, a cup played until the last moment by the best players of the company. And here we had some surprises, through the teams from 1st and 3rd places, who participated in the event for the first time. The 3rd place went to Anonimous, along with the goal scorer title, as well as the FairPlay trophy, the team not being sanctioned with any card. The amount won by them at the end of the matches reached the value of 15,050 lei and will be donated in full to the Gaesti Community Association.
The team from Timisoara was also at the top and although it won only the 2nd place, it went home with the prize for the best goalkeeper, receiving only 5 goals in the last 4 matches. Thus, the amount raised by them was 14,800 lei and will be donated to the Provistae Association, in order to cover the medical expenses of a 5-year-old boy with serious vision problems.
Another team in the competition for the first time was that of the Dominicans, named after the last weekend, the champions of the event, following the match they had with the Timisoara team. The Dominicans managed to raise after 2 weekends of exhausting matches the amount of 17,750 lei that they will donate to the Association ”Spontaneity - Intervention in Autism”, in order to compensate for the medical treatment of a boy suffering from autism.
Because there were two weekends full of surprises and prizes, the well-known “hitting the football gate’s bar” contest ended with a last test created especially for the little ones. The children were invited on the field, where under the cheers of their parents and all the participants they felt like football players for a day. Shy or totally in control, they had 3 chances to hit the goal bar and get a prize in the form of a voucher. I noticed many dads excited to see that real goal scorers have grown up, judging by the number of goals scored by the children.
The competition represented fun, involvement, but also challenges became ”home” for all of us, for 4 days. We learned a lot from each other and we showed ourselves once again how to be more patient, more understanding with our peers, more open-minded to change and last but not least, happier.
Many thanks to everyone who got involved in this event. Your presence mattered to us more than you can imagine and thus gave us the strength to look with confidence at the 8th edition, which will take place next year.
