The University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest becomes officially the second hospital in the country with a functional Helipad

Understanding the importance of  a Helipad for any large emergency hospital, at the proposal of the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, MaxBet decided to get involved in this project.

The need to have a functional Helipad during the day and night. Topographic studies, specialized expertise on area classification, obstacle studies, verification and obtaining approval for the flight corridor and other technical conditions have led to the modification of the initial project which provided for its existence in the courtyard of the Hospital.

At this time, the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital holds the Construction Authorization no. 199/1621079 dated on the 7th of June 2018 for the execution of helipad arrangement works on the terrace of Unit C. This location was established as the best construction option, based on studies, expertise and analysis performed by the representatives of the hospital and the designer - project manager, ABC Development Aviation.

Thus, SUUB will have a helipad on the terrace for major emergencies, with the characteristics necessary to serve day and night traffic, the only one in Bucharest at present time, and the second in the country (made by the same company). The project is expected to be completed during 2019 and has an estimated value of 1 million euros.

The helipad’s platform will have a metal structure consisting of steel beams and latticed poles, will be equipped with gutters and safety net, with electrical installation of beacons, light markings, rescue and protection equipment, fire extinguishing and other necessary operation in conditions of maximum safety.

The project also includes the location of an elevator outside F Unit, in the area where the intervention can be made the easiest, with minimal disruption of existing features and flows, an elevator that will serve exclusively the helipad with direct access to the Emergency Reception Unit.

”The time for action and treatment would be much shorter if they could land here and take the patient immediately to the emergency unit. It is a facility that would ensure the patient a much faster treatment. These moments can mean life”, said the former general manager of SUUB in 2015.
