The project "We make a hospital" is the winner of the Civil Society Gala
On Monday, the 11th of June 2018, the project "We make a hospital" of the Give Life Association won the Civil Society Gala. The 2018 edition of the event gathered 189 projects, programs, and communication campaigns on social issues.
The same project win the 1st prize in the Health section.
”Give Life” Association set out in 2015 to overcome bureaucratic limitations and become the first NGO in Romania to build a hospital from scratch, exclusively from donations and sponsorships.
More than 100,000 people and more than 1,500 companies joined the bold initiative. MaxBet is among the top 3 sponsors in terms of volume of contributions. According to the information published on the website of the Civil Society Gala, the estimated investment in 2015 was 8 million euros. The Give Life Association raised until December 2017, almost half of the amount, thus managing to start the work of the Hospital.
In three weeks from the beginning of the construction, the solidarity of people and companies broke the record of a fundraising campaign, launched by an NGO in Romania. Together they raised more than 4 million euros.
The "Give Life" Hospital will include oncology, hemato-oncology, sterile rooms, radiotherapy, educational and recreation rooms. The start of the construction was given at the end of 2017, in the courtyard of the "Marie Curie" Hospital.
In this way, we would like to congratulate once again, from the bottom of our hearts, the ladies responsible for achieving the impossible, Oana Gheorghiu and Carmen Uscatu. They are clear proof that helplessness should not exist in our vocabulary. Through hard work and dedication, any project, no matter how difficult it may seem, is ultimately achievable.
