Press release: Metropolis Foundation and MaxBet build together Public Hospitals from Private Money

With joy and enthusiasm, we announce that starting from December 2022, the MaxBet company has joined the Public Hospitals from Private Funds initiative out of the desire to continue to be involved in the medical system in Romania, to contribute to the modernization of state hospitals and to improve patients' quality of life.

Social responsibility exists and develops in companies that truly understand that they have the leverage and the duty to maintain a healthy balance in the society in which they operate and from which they receive, in turn, the validation of the quality of their products or services, but also the continuity the activity they carry out.

And one by one, these companies began to join the Public Hospitals from Private Money initiative. If the first project, the Hematology Department at the Fundeni Clinical Institute, was completed largely from donations from individuals, today we manage to be present in over 25 hospitals in the country and make investments of over 2 million euros and thanks to to the companies that shook our hands with force and said with us "WE DO". And all this, because we turned the era of good that was being done quietly into noisy exhortations and actions.

"Thanks to a child, I started renovating state hospitals. I have talked a lot about Lăcrămioara and I will continue to talk until the end. About her, about Cosmina, Mihăita, George... and all the others.

I admit that I live from their stories and I feed on anger because it is unfair that they spend more days in a hospital room than in kindergarten or school. When I started renovating the Pediatric Hematology Department at the Fundeni Clinical Institute with my own money, I promised myself that I would change something in the state medical system. We succeeded, together with the people and companies who came with me, to renovate public hospitals with private money.

This year, our common goal is to invest together in sustainable projects with a major impact on patients. Charity is also seen through our eyes and binds us to the belief that money brings both health and happiness, and no one can convince us otherwise because we have seen both. Cosmina's curls after months of chemotherapy, the big smile when she talks about her future plans and the light in her parents' eyes every time they look at her. The Metropolis Foundation has been contributing for over 20 years to building a world where people smile, by creating their access to health, education and balanced emotional development. The foundation focuses on social assistance for vulnerable children from its own and partner centers, on renovating and equipping public hospitals with medical equipment from private money, on supporting verified individual causes and helping stray animals from partner shelters.

In 2020, we started the renovation of the Pediatric Hematology Department within the Fundeni Clinical Institute, then continued with the renovation of the Pediatric Nephrology Department. In 2023, we will renovate the Fundeni Surgery and Urology Sections. We have been involved in the 3 years of existence of the Public Hospitals from Private Money initiative in over 25 hospitals in the country and have invested over 2.5 million euros to date.
