More than 500 children with autism will be medically evaluated for free, through a civil society project

Over 500 children affected by autism from 8 counties will be medically evaluated for free in a civil society project, the approach being considered by the initiators essential for recovery.

The medical evaluation will be done in the local centers where the children are taken care of, from Craiova, Baia Mare, Bihor, Brasov, Botosani, Constanta, Galati and Iasi, which have recently received licenses for ASRS and PEP 3 programs. ASRSs are scales built to measure behaviors associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in children and young people aged between 2 to 18 years old, while PEP 3 provides relevant information on the level of skill development, as well as for determining diagnosis and severity of the disorder.

The free assessment project for children with autism, entitled “I hear you, I see you, I feel you” belongs to the Association for the Recovery and Integration of Children with Autism (ARICA) and is sponsored by MaxBet Group, as part of this company's social responsibility initiatives.

“The contribution in various forms to the recovery of children with autism is a CSR concern assumed annually by our company since 2011 and materialized in various donation and sponsorship actions. The meeting with ARICA, at the end of 2016, gave us the opportunity to find out more about the need to evaluate children with autism when identifying this neuropsychiatric developmental disorder, but also periodically during recovery to analyze the evolution of children investigated. With the donation of these materials, we warmly shake the hand of the specialists who permanently support these children and we congratulate them for their selflessness" - Gherghina Ionescu MaxBet Romania administrator

ARICA representatives say that free medical evaluation of children with autism is an absolutely necessary condition in order to find optimal recovery solutions.

“For more than two years, since I have been part of the community of parents with children with autism, I wanted to be able to help other parents find resources to fight against this disorder. The angel who takes care of my Catalin has spread his wings to another 500 children like him, so that, without costs, they can benefit from professional tools for diagnosing, evaluating and measuring their evolution. The “I HEAR YOU, I SEE YOU, I FEEL YOU” project is an extremely important step forward on the road to recovery, as important as the exchange of experience between families with children with this problem. No one can succeed on their own.” - Anca Mihai Iurea, mother and A.R.I.C.A project coordinator.

Autism is a neuropsychiatric disorder in children. In Romania, about 30,000 children suffer from autism, according to official records, but the total number of those affected is much higher. Globally, one in 68 children has this disorder.
